Geometric Cowl Recipe

The Geometric Cowl Recipe has several components that you can choose to combine in order to create a unique piece every time you use this pattern.

The possibilities are endless - yarn choice (color-changing, solids, heathers) and color contrast, multicolored or solid ribbing, to braid or no braid, mirrored or continuous colorwork triangles…

Materials:
Size US4, 24” circular needles
2 colors of fingering weight yarn – approximately 275-400 yards in each color.

Fall Flux Hats

The Fall Flux Hats come in two versions - short & slouchy, and a tubular toque.

The Fall Flux Hats are great for those special skeins of color-changing fingering weight yarn hiding in your stash. With clean, uncomplicated shaping and brilliant pops of color, these hats are perfect for your Summer-to-Fall wardrobe transition.

Materials:
Yarn: Any plump, single ply fingering weight yarn that gradually changes color will work.

1 skein Noro Taiyo Sock (color #5 shown) – used in short length sample
1 skein Noro Silk Garden Sock (color #304 shown) – used in long length sample

Pierce Cowl & Neckwarmer 

The Pierce Cowl & Neckwarmer set is a duo of patterns knit up with bulky tweed yarn.

Materials:
Yarn: Queensland Collection Kathmandu Chunky (color 117 shown).
2 balls are enough for either the cowl or the neckwarmer. You will need 4 balls to complete both pieces.

Size US 9 needles, or size needed to obtain gauge.
Use 24” circular needles for cowl version. Straight or circular needles can be used for the neckwarmer version.

Four 1” buttons (for neckwarmer version) - optional

Note** - The Neckwarmer Version instructions are written with an optional buttonhole row. You may choose to include the buttonholes or omit them. If you omit the buttonholes, you can fasten your neckwarmer with a shawl pin, brooch (as pictured) or small bit of ribbon.*

Whelk Hat

The Whelk Hat is one of those rare, exquisite combinations where pattern and yarn combine to make a perfect project.

The pattern is written to feature two lovely yarns – Brooklyn Tweed LOFT and Malabrigo Finito – in two sizes, long and short.

Hyacinth Cowl

The Hyacinth Cowl is a simple design, great for those looking to move beyond simple rectangles.

A few interesting stitches, including purl two together (p2tog), will keep more advanced knitters interested. The silk and cashmere yarn creates a soft, buttery fabric with amazing drape and slight sheen.

18 sts/24 rows = 4” in stockinette stitch
20 sts/32 rows = 4” in pattern stitch
