Understory Cowl

A sweet little cowl pattern to help get through the winter duldrums. As a little pre-Valentine's Day treat, I've decided to offer this pattern for free. Enjoy!

Materials:

US 10, 16” or 24” circular needles, or size needed to attain gauge

2 skeins of The Wool Dispensary Imperial Poison (shown in Tightrope)

Approximately 1.5 skeins used for this pattern.

Gauge (After Blocking):

16 sts = 4” in 1x1 rib stitch and Fir Cone Lace stitch


Finished Measurements (After Blocking):

tribune scarflette

An abbreviated scarf knit lengthwise. This pattern begins with a textured lace pattern and ends with rows of stockinette and garter, slightly curved by the simplest of short rows.
Psst. Want a larger size? Simple increase your gauge – I suggest using Malabrigo Twist yarn and size 10.5 needles.

Materials:
Size US7, 40” circular needles
1 skein Malabrigo Arroyo (#45 Chircas shown) - OR 335 yards of sport weight wool
Tapestry needle

Gauge:
14sts = 4” in stockinette after blocking

Finished Measurements (after blocking):
10” high from bind off to lace points; 54” long

tribune scarf & wrap

This easy-to-memorize textured lace pattern creates a wearable scarf and a snuggly wrap that looks great in a multitude of yarns. The pattern directions are written for the scarf version with the wrap version instructions in parentheses.

Materials:
2 stitch markers
Tapestry needle
Scarf Version:
Size US 7 needles
2 skeins Malabrigo Arroyo (Pictured: Malabrigo Arroyo in Prussia Blue)
Wrap Version:

3 skeins Malabrigo Merino Worsted (Pictured: Malabrigo Merino Worsted in Natural)

lakeshore cowl

 

This cowl can be worked in two sizes – as snuggly cowl that fits underneath your jacket, or as the larger version that can be worn slouchy over the shoulders. The pattern is written for the small size with instructions in parentheses for the larger version.

subway tiles hat

Stripes, texture and slipped stitches come together in this sweet, lightweight hat. A great transitional piece, this is knit in a wool/silk blend, creating a nice slouchy hat perfect for spring and fall. Knit it in neutrals for a subdued look, or make it feisty with a punchy color combination.
