Breean Elyse Trunk Show at Knit 1

I'm having my very first trunk show this Friday at Knit 1 in Chicago. EEeepp!

Knit 1 is the lovely LYS where I spend most of my Sunday afternoons stitching, sipping yummy drinks from the coffee shop next door, and having an awesome time chatting with all different sorts of people.

You might remember that I worked with Lynn (Knit 1's owner) to design a few patterns for an event last November - Dose Market. These patterns, along with the entire Breean Elyse collection, will be on display during the trunk show.

I'll be featuring my latest collection - Hot Child in the City, and I'll be handing out copies of my latest freebie - the Understory Cowl.

Also, Lynn is offering 10% off all yarns during the event! Woot!

When: Friday, April 20th 6-8pm

Where: Knit 1 - 3823 N. Lincoln Ave (above Addison)

Stop by and say hi!

P.S. You can preview all of my designs on Ravelry.

Psst...I'm including a code to download the PDF version of my patterns with any physical pattern purchase during the show. This means that you can keep a copy of the PDF in your Ravelry library!

Update: Roscoe Village Hat KAL

I have a few lovely FOs to share with you from the Roscoe Village Hat KAL:

by crazyl FlickrThe first is from Lauren (crazyl on Ravelry), who used Malabrigo Rios in Azules. Gorgeous!! Lauren also recently knit another one of my patterns - the popular Rasta Neckwarmer.

by mercourier The second Roscoe Village Hat FO was knit by Sam (mercourier on Ravelry - and the genius behind The Wool Dispensary). Sam knit her RV Hat out of Malabrigo Merino Worsted in Tortuga.

Tortuga and I go way back ;) I just love the lighting in Sam's photos.

by mercourierAnd I figured as long as I'm sharing, that I'd drop in a few photos from my recent work trip to Geneva, Switzerland.

For the past 1.5 years I've been working to help put together 2 concurrent events - the LESI Global Technology Impact Forum and Invent for Humanity.

I'm thrilled that the time for them has finally come and I get to experience Switzerland for the first time while meeting some exceptional people.

tnna & new designs to share

there have been a lot of secret projects in the works lately. a few of them have been for the new knitting pattern collection by Swans Island. they have begun a slow release of their patterns on their website.

i attended the tnna show in columbus this past weekend and got to see the entire first collection. it was lovely! i had three patterns in the collection - a gray scalloped cowl, a brown hat with snowflake embroidery, and a textured white earflap hat made with their new bulky weight yarn (the cream hat in the photo below). these images show a glimpse of the lovely Swans Island booth at tnna.

the gray cowl, which i don't have a photo of, was featured (along with a gorgeous cabled sweater by Michele Orne) in the tnna fashion show!

more details coming soon!
